Cooler, Cloudier & Potentially Wet: Halloween Weekend Forecast

A much cooler and potentially wet weekend is taking shape for the Coachella Valley as a series of low pressure systems approach SoCal.

Temperatures will gradually cool through Friday, with highs dipping into the lower to mid-80s before a more significant and noticeable cooldown arrives this weekend.

Plan on the clouds increasing over the next few of days, with our first chance of showers arriving as early as Friday evening (more so for the coast), although the best opportunity for more widespread rainfall looks to be late Saturday into early Sunday. There's still alot of uncertainty surrounding rainfall amounts, but some areas west of the valley could pick up a 0.50-1.00"+ or more, with much lighter amounts possible in the desert.

Saturday and Sunday are shaping up to be our coolest days, with highs falling into the lower to mid-70s Sunday, roughly 10–15 degrees below average.

Showers should taper off by early Monday, if not sooner, as the system moves east, allowing temperatures to gradually rebound early next week, although we'll remain slightly cooler than normal.

Bottom line: The later you go trick-or-treating the more likely you'll see increased rain chances--especially between 7pm Saturday through 7am Sunday morning.

Don't forget Daylight Saving Time ends Nov 1st, when we "Fall Back"--getting an extra hour of sleep, but at the expense of loosing another hour of daylight.
