Trick-or-Treat-or-Rain for the Coachella Valley Halloween Weekend

The Coachella Valley is heading into a cool, cloudy, and potentially wet Halloween weekend as a low pressure system moves into SoCal. Scattered light showers continue along the coast today, with the lower desert remaining mostly dry through Saturday evening.

Our best chance for rain arriving locally is overnight Saturday into early Sunday morning. Rainfall could begin after midnight, initially light and steady, with a few pockets of moderate to locally heavy rain possible before sunrise Sunday. The forecast ensemble has changed a lot the past few days--but latest models suggest the Coachella Valley could pick up around 0.10–0.50" of rain, with higher totals favored across San Diego County and our surrounding mountains.

Showers should taper off in the deserts by late Sunday morning, with drier conditions and sunshine returning Monday. Temperatures remain below average through the weekend before gradually warming into the upper 70s and lower 80s next week.

And don't forget to "Fall Back" an hour Sunday morning as Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 AM!
