Temperatures to Climb as Santa Ana Winds Return to SoCal

The Coachella Valley is enjoying another stretch of cool, calm, and comfortable fall weather, but a noticeable warming trend is on the way!

Highs will remain in the lower 80s through Wednesday, running about 5 degrees below our seasonal average, as a passing low pressure system keeps temperatures on the cooler side.

While a few isolated showers are possible along the San Diego County coast early Wednesday, the Coachella Valley will stay dry with plenty of sunshine.

By Thursday and Friday, high pressure begins building across the Southwest, bringing a gradual warmup with temperatures climbing back above average heading into the weekend.

A developing Santa Ana wind event Saturday and Sunday could bring gusty offshore winds, exceptionally warm temperatures, and very low humidity to areas west of the mountains, with some coastal communities potentially reaching the upper 80s!

While the strongest winds and greatest warming will likely remain west of the Coachella Valley, we'll still experience a warmer, drier weekend as high pressure strengthens across the region.
