Triple-digit heat continues but not for long
Friday, Palm Springs reached a high temperature of 107°. Today, the average temperature is 92° and we will remain above that in the triple digits, though, temperatures will be slowly cooling.

A ridge of high pressure will slowly weaken throughout the weekend. Behind it a trough of low pressure will begin to cool things down for next week. Temperatures will slowly inch back near seasonal average, at times even reaching below seasonal.

We could use some below average temperatures. We have had five days in a row of triple digit temperatures, six once we make it through Saturday. The longest stretch, so far, for 2020 has been nine days.

For Mother's Day weekend, temperatures will be in the triple digits but cooler than the last couple of days. Partly cloudy skies Saturday with some breezy northwesterly winds going into the evening hours. By Sunday, dropping temperatures a couple of degrees, adding in a bit more sunshine, and keeping things breezy for the later afternoon with winds out of the southwest.
The triple digits are almost over. Expect the 90s by Monday with the 80s by Tuesday!
