Authorities zero in on whereabouts of fugitive plastic surgeon David Morrow

Prosecutors say that David and Linda Morrow worked together to entice people with good insurance, like teachers, to come into The Morrow Institute in Rancho Mirage, then sell them on the need for plastic surgeries. The Morrows would then bill insurance companies for the procedures as “medically necessary.”

The couple racked up at least $84 million in bogus claims, according to documents filed by federal prosecutors.

David Morrow eventually took a plea deal and was set to be sentenced in federal court, when he and his wife transferred ownership of their pricey properties and went on the run.

The Morrows were ordered to turn over their passports, but newly discovered documents show that prosecutors have now filed contempt indictments against the couple for disobeying a court order to stay put “by traveling outside the United States and relocating without prior permission.”

KESQ’s Brooke Beare previously asked authorities if the Morrows could be in Israel, where they took frequent trips, and some say they had citizenship, but they have declined to speculate. However, it is clear that authorities have reason to believe the Morrows have fled the country.

David Morrow will serve 20 years in prison when he is located, as he was sentenced in absentia. Linda Morrow’s case had not been adjudicated when she left the area.
