Apartment fire victim calls for help, Palm Springs releases fire safety documents

After fire erupted Tuesday at Palm Springs apartment complex The Modern Cactus, the man whose apartment burned is calling for help.

Stephie Pahlavi Zan said he’s worried his home and everything in it are a total loss.

“I have nothing,” Pahlavi Zan said. “I’m wearing the same clothes as yesterday and they smell like smoke.”

To help Pahlavi Zan, email him at StephiePahlaviZan@gmail.com.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, taking just 6 minutes to respond and immediately executing a rescue from a third floor window.

Documents obtained by News Channel 3 show the building, which has caught fire multiple times in the past, is compliant with city fire code. The Modern Cactus is next due for inspection in July 2019, according to city officials.
