Motorist killed in Palm Drive collision

Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs was shut down to traffic due to a collision Thursday, according to Desert Hot Springs Police Department Chief Dale Mondary.
Palm Drive was expected to be closed for three to five hours.
Four adults were hospitalized in the crash. One person was critically injured and three people suffered moderate injuries. Desert Hot Springs police confirmed at 6:10 p.m. one the patients had died.
Officers from DHSPD and the California Highway Patrol were on scene.
According to DHSPD Chief Dale Mondary, Palm Drive was shut down northbound at Camino Idillio and southbound at Camino Aventura.
