VillageFest canceled due to expected rain and flooding

VillageFest has been canceled due to incoming rain and expected flooding.

The City of Palm Springs issued the announcement around shortly after 9:00 a.m. this morning.

“The City of Palm Springs would like to alert the community that VillageFest, the City’s weekly street fair held every Thursday night along Palm Canyon Drive between Baristo and Amado Roads, will be canceled tonight due to expected rain and flooding throughout the day and evening,” read the city’s statement. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

The weather has led to extensive road closures in the Palm Springs and the surrounding area.

Gene Autry Trail and Indian Canyon Drive closed Thursday morning at the wash due to flooding.
