Interstate 10 traffic slowed due to collisions

Traffic was backed up on Interstate 10 through Palm Springs and in Palm Desert Friday morning.

Eastbound I-10 traffic was slow from just east of Indian Canyon Drive, east past North Gene Autry Trail toward Date Palm Drive.

A couple of minor collisions were reported, and traffic was backed up due to numerous road closures in and out of Palm Springs.

In Palm Desert, westbound Interstate 10 was slow due to a spin-out collision at 7:45 a.m. west of Washington Street. Traffic was backed up toward Jefferson Street in the westbound lanes. By 8:30 a.m., stop and go traffic continued for about a half of a mile between Washington Street and Cook Street, but the scene had cleared.
