Motorcyclist suffers major injuries in crash on Palm Drive

A motorcyclist suffered major injuries following a crash in Desert Hot Springs Thursday afternoon.

According to DHSPD Deputy Chief Jim Henson, at around 3:30 p.m., a motorcyclist was traveling southbound when they struck a vehicle on Palm Drive and 20th Avenue.

Henson said the motorcyclist fell off the motorcycle but the motorcycle kept going on to the northbound lanes, striking at least one more vehicle.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Cal Fire confirmed one other person suffered minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department confirmed traffic in the area is significant, drivers are advised to find an alternate route.
