Monterey Ave. reopens after multi-vehicle crash

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department closed both sides of Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert Thursday evening following a crash involving multiple vehicles.

An RSO spokesperson confirmed they received reports of a three-vehicle crash on Monterey Avenue and Country Club Drive at approximately 7:32 p.m.

A man and a woman were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Deputies have closed northbound and southbound Monterey between Frank Sinatra Drive and Country Club. The closure is expected to remain in place for a couple of hours.

The roadway was reopened to traffic shortly after 11:00 p.m.

Investigators do not suspect drugs and/or alcohol played a factor in the crash at this time.
