Activist host immigraton forum at Mary Pickford Theatre

An immigration forum will be held Saturday, March 15 focusing on the situation at the border and the realities that come along with it.

The East-West Alliance will be holding their second community forum Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm at the ‘Mary Pickford is D’Place’ movie theater in Cathedral City.

The theme of this forum is linking activism and law.

“It’s a completely safe environment and one of the reasons why it’s great to have it in Cathedral City because it’s a city that declared ‘sanctuary city’ so people should come out they shouldn’t be fearful,” said Bill Holzhauer, a volunteer for Border Kindness.

Coachella and Palm Springs are the valley’s two other sanctuary cities.

There will be many speakers at the forum, including an immigration attorney.

Organizers are hoping people who attend will be able to understand what they can do to help the immigrant community at the border and in their own communities.
