Locals enjoy food truck festivals in Cathedral City and Coachella
Locals enjoyed outdoor food truck festivals Saturday in both Cathedral City and Coachella.
Many families were out enjoying the beautiful weather, music, activities and some of the most popular food trucks from across Southern California as well as several local food truck vendors.
“We bring in the best food trucks in the area that have experience working at a food truck event…and then it’s about the food. It’s all about the food,” said T.H. Irwin, the event producer for Cathedral City’s Food Truck Mash-Up.
Across the valley, hundreds were also enjoying Coahella’s food truck festival, which had its debut ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday afternoon.
“We need events like this in the valley because we are kind of far from the main city in LA so a lot of the people travel out there, but we need this out here. We need to bring business out here and get people to visit us and enjoy the family events and bring families together,” said Nannatte Martinez, a Tacos Quinteros local food truck vendor in Coachella.
If you haven’t had a chance to enjoy the festivals, you can still get in on the fun. Cathedral City’s event goes until 9pm on Saturday outside City Hall at 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral City, CA. Event organizers say they will also have a movie in the park starting at 7pm. The will be playing “Coco.”
Coachella’s food truck event goes until 10pm Saturday night and continues through Sunday at 1609 4th Street Coachella, CA 92236. The event will also continue next weekend.
