Local officers honored for work enforcing DUI laws
Officers serving at some of the valley’s police agencies were honored for their work enforcing DUI laws at the 2019 Inland Empire Mothers Against Drunk Driving awards.
Desert Hot Springs police officers Cory Carranza and Adam Perez were recognized for arresting 38 drunk or drugged drivers between the two of them.
Palm Springs police officer Doherty was celebrated for arresting 99 impaired drivers in 2018. PSPD Sergeant Galvan was recognized by MADD as a “Hero Difference Maker” for his work with the organization to better enforce DUI laws and educate drivers.
Indio Police Officer Eduardo Suarez was awarded for making 15 DUI arrests.
Officers and deputies from agencies across Riverside and San Bernardino County were honored. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, last year, over 8,000 DUI arrests were made in both counties.
