Palm Drive reopens following to fatal collision

Police reopened Palm Drive from Ironwood to Two Bunch Palms Trail in both directions Friday morning following a fatality.

Officers were investigating a deadly collision reported at 2:30 a.m. involving one vehicle, according to a police department spokeswoman, Doria Williams.

Police were expected to remain on the scene for several hours, Williams said.

And traffic on Palm Drive was being detoured around the scene.

Williams said Two Bunch Palms was open at the intersection of Palm Drive in both directions, but Palm Drive was closed north to Ironwood in both directions.

Motorists were urged to use an alternate route.
