Indio Man Fired Days After Putting Mobile Home Fire Out

INDIO – A Good Samaritan was fired from his job after being treated for smoke inhalation that stemmed from him helping put out a fire.

It all started at the Circle K on Clinton Avenue and Fred Waring Street.Ralph Franco was pumping gas and saw a mobile home catch on fire.He rushed to the scene putting out the fire.Minutes after firefighters arrived they realized he was suffering from smoke inhalation.

They took him to John F. Kennedy Hospital in Indio where he was treated.Doctors there gave him a note telling him to not work for two days.Franco says when hecalled in sick to work,his employer, Jason Arnold of Jason Arnold Lanscaping, fired him.

News Channel 3 tried getting ahold of Arnold.We went to his home office in La Quinta and left several voicemail which went unreturned.

Franco is still unemployed and is going to file an unlawful termination complaint.
