Local Author Offers Secrets To Economic Success

(KESQ) – Companies across the country are revaluating how they do business in these tough times.

And one local business leader is sharing his secrets of success.

“In some sense the recession is never going to end,” Stan Berenbaum said. “The way consumers think, the way they buy products and services, how they’re going to buy real estate, homes, how they’re going to invest, how they’re going to bank, that has fundamentally changed. I think businesses need to understand that, accept it, and adapt to it.”

Berenbaum is the President and CEO of American Leak Detection in Palm Springs.

Now he can add author to his bio.

His book “Lead the Category!” hit store shelves this year, and already it has people talking.

“I’m not a real big reader but I kept reading,” said David Chandler, the President of Coachella Valley Security Academy. “I read the whole book and quickly, within a day. I just couldn’t put it down. Once you start on it you don’t want to let it go.”

Chandler recently read Berenbaum’s business book and now shares bits and pieces with his employees at their weekly meetings.

The books release comes at a time when businesses across the country are struggling to stay afloat.

“Now would be a great time to step back and re-evaluate how you’re running your business,” Berenbaum said. “And I think in that respect it’s always good to go back to the fundamentals.”

That’s just what Berenbaum does in his book – takes it back to basics.

The 95 so-called “chapters” are less than a page long for the most part, and sometimes they are as simple as a sentence.

“It’s written in little bits and pieces, which makes digesting it a lot easier,” Chandler said.

Chandler says he was left wanting more after reading the book, and is waiting for a sequel.

Berenbaum says there’s a good possibility there will be another book, or two.
