Pedestrian struck and killed by garbage truck on I-10 near Monterey exit
Traffic on the westbound side of Interstate 10 is slow after a pedestrian was struck by a garbage truck near the Monterey exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man, identified as James Mac Arthur, 35, of Palm Desert reportedly jumped into the path of a garbage truck.
The man was struck in the slow lane and was pronounced dead at the
scene by first responders
Several lanes were shut down for nearly two hours. Everything was back open by 6 p.m.
