Person Critically Injured After I-10 Crash In Indio
INDIO – Two people and a dog were injured when a vehicle overturned on a freeway east of Indio, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The solo-vehicle crash was reported at 7:23 a.m. Friday on eastbound Interstate 10, about three miles east of Indio, according to the CHP.
The vehicle went off the freeway, overturned and rolled about 20 feet down an embankment.
Firefighters cut a barbed-wire fence so a Mercy Air helicopter could land at about 8:10 a.m., a CHP dispatcher in Indio said.
One patient considered critically injured was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, according to Cal Fire and the CHP. A second patient with moderate injuries was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
Animal control was called to care for the dog.
