Neighbors Rally Around Green Technology

PALM SPRINGS – The City of Palm Springs hosted an electric car and neighborhood rally Wednesday night to encourage people to go green.

It’s part of “Your Sustainable City Week,”andKESQ News Channel 3 is a sponsor of the event.

Residents checked out the latest in electric cars and the best ways to go green.

Throughout the evening electric car companiesallowed peopleto take a spin and test drive some of the most efficient plug-in and plug-in hybrid vechicles on the market.

Earlier this month the Palm Springs City Council approved support of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle resolution.

Wednesdaynight’sevent was a way for the city to encourage the use of cleaner fuels while helping to reduce greenhouse gases and dependence on imported oil.
