More Showers Heading Into Southern California

PALM DESERT – The next storm system is moving toward the Coachella Valley, and its biggest threat is snow to the mountains.

The National Weather Service says starting Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, the snow level will be lowering to below 3,000 feet, and to near 2,000 feet on Wednesday.

That means significant amounts of snow may fall over the foothills surrounding the Coachella valley and the Anza Borrego Desert.

Winter Storm Watches are already in effect for those areas, and it could be elevated.

What’s more, travel in these areas will be very difficult.

On the valley floor, thunderstorms and hail could be a possibility, and hail accumulations could reach one inch or more.
