Cops Bust Illegal Marijuana Grow After Attempted Rape

CATHEDRAL CITY- Cathedral City Police say theyhave busted a sophisticated marijuana grow house at the Ocotillo Place Apartments on the 69100 block of Dinah Shore Drive.

Police were dispatched to the apartment complexat 4p.m. Monday afternoon after a 28 year-old woman called 911 saying here ex-boyfriend tried raping her.

When police arrived they say 28 year old Raymond Bowen of Cathedral City was growing marijuana plants inside his Ocotillo Place apartment.

He is free on $50,000 bail, today.

The Drug Task Force officerssay they confiscated 25 unmatured plants and 18 matured plants.

They say the plants were being grown inside a hydroponics style garden. Bowen was arrested for sexual assault, false imprisonment, and domestic violence. He was taken to the Indio jail. The victim was not hurt and did not require medical care.

Additional charges may be filed against Bowen at a later time.
