Group Accused Of Killing Retiree Will Stand Trial
INDIO -A judge has ruled that four men and a woman accused in the throat-slashing murder of a Canadian businessman must stand trial on felony charges.
Fernando Antonio Benavidez, 31, Ronald “Ronnie” Handwerk, 35, Rogelio Leon Zuniga, 33, and siblings Robert Lee Dunson, 27, and Jackie Lynn Dunson, 33, are charged in the Nov. 26, 2007, slaying of William George Dobbs of British Columbia.
If convicted, Robert Dunson, Handwerk and Zuniga could face the death sentence and Jackie Dunson and Benavidez could get life in prison without the possibility of parole.
