Woman Arrested For Child Endangerment In Cathedral City

CATHEDRAL CITY -Cathedral City Police have arrested a mother on suspicion of child endangerment. Police say she left her daughters unattended inside a vehicle.

Police received a report from two people who heard an eight month-old baby girl crying inside the vehicleSaturday night around 9:30 p.m.on the 31200 block of Landau Boulevard.

Police say the couple waited aroundten minutes for the parent to return but when no one showed up they called police.

Police say the mother eventually did show up and tried to get away beforeofficers arrived.

Police also discovered she left her four year-old daughter alone in the vehicle.

The children were not hurt.

Police arrestedNorma Maciel, 28,of Cathedral City for felony child endangerment.

It’s not clear how long the children were left alone in the vehicle but investigating officers believe it was anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.

Police are reminding everyone to never leave a child unattended in a vehicle.
