Crews Work Overnight To Douse Debris Fire
Cal Fire is looking into what caused a pile of debris to catch fire overnight.
Firefighters were called out to Airport Boulevard in Thermal last night- just west of Calhoun street around 11:20pm.
They found 20,000 square feet of palm tree pieces and mulch on fire. They were able to contain the blaze around 4:30, this morning.
The first crews on scene said the flames had the potential to spread to a nearby date palm grove.
