Student Shot At Southern California High School

A 15-year-old student at South Gate High School was shot on the campus today and a fellow student was arrested, police said.

The shooting occurred at 7:51 a.m. at 4100 Firestone Blvd., according to the South Gate Police Department.

South Gate is located just south of the downtown area of Los Angeles.

The wounded boy, who was taken to a hospital for an abdomen wound, was expected to survive, police said.

His name was not released, nor was the name of the suspect.
