Three Boys Caught Stealing Laptops From Middle School

Police arrested three of the four boys caught burglarizing a middle school, and know who the fourth boy is, they said today.

Police received a call at 11:24 p.m. Friday of a burglary taking place at Nellie N. Coffman Middle School, 34603 Plumely Rd. Officers found that a Palm Springs Unified School District security guard had detained three boys, ages 12-15, and were told that a fourth suspect had run into the night, said Cathedral City police Sgt. Corwin de Veas.

Police searched the area were unable to find the boy, but have been given his name. The trio was taken to the police station and released to their parents, as charges are pending, de Veas said.

Police do not believe that the suspects are connected to any recent burglaries of Valley schools. Cathedral City police asked anyone with information about this incident to call (760) 770-0303.
