Third suspect arrested from Palm Desert burglary, that led to a deadly Deputy Involved Shooting
Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies announced Friday the arrest of a third suspect, tied to a burglary that ended with a sheriff’s deputy fatally shooting a College of the Desert football player.
The suspect has been identified as Dyrenell Kardia Robinson, 20, of Palm Desert according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Robinson was one of three suspected burglars spotted running from the Desert Fountains apartment complex in the 77-800 block of Michigan Drive, just after midnight on February 23rd.
Robinson’s arrest follows that of Roman Tausaga, 22, who was arrested on felony burglary and robbery charges the same day as the crime.
One of the other men – Frank Tanuvasa, 20, a sophomore on C.O.D.’s football team – struggled with a deputy, who shot him, Ramos said.
Tanuvasa was hit in the chest and later died at Eisenhower Hospital.
Robinson was arrested without incident and was booked at the Riverside County jail in Indio.
Bail has been set at $500,000.00.
Investigators are not saying what led to them to make the arrest.
