Spring Storm aims right for Palm Springs
A spring storm is descending on Southern California, bringing a chance of rain, thunder and gusty winds through the day.
Rain has been reported in Ventura County Wednesday morning as the Pacific weather front heads north. The brunt of the storm won’t hit until later in the day, however.
The National Weather Service says a half-inch to an inch of rain could fall in most areas, with an inch-and-a-half possible in the mountains. The downpour could be heavy but brief at times and there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms.
The storm should begin tapering off by evening but showers are possible through early Thursday morning Los Angeles can use the rain. The seasonal rain total since last July is more than a half-foot below normal.
