3 homeless after North Palm Springs fire

Three people were displaced by a fire that damaged their home in North Palm Springs today, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The fire at a single-story residence in the 64200 block of Dillon Road was reported around 3 a.m. The three occupants were evacuated and were not hurt, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

The fire, which damaged the front room of the residence, was extinguished about 20 minutes after it started. The cause was under investigation, Hendrickson said.
