Brush fire contained

A brush fire in Banning is now contained. Full control is estimated for 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The fire started around 6:00 p.m. Saturday night near Old Banning Idyllwild Road and Shirleon Drive. The fire has burned more than 360 acres. 4 firefighters, 3 of them inmate firefighters, have suffered minor injuries. One outbuilding and several abandoned cars were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
