Less Heat, Less Humidity Across the Desert

The cooldown is officially underway across the Coachella Valley, with temperatures dropping a few degrees each day as high pressure weakens and a trough moves into the West.

Expect some breezy west winds this afternoon and evening, along with the next few days with gusts around 20–40 mph. Strongest winds in the passes and desert slopes.

Highs settle a little closer to normal by Sunday before briefly dipping below average mid next week. Daytime highs will be closer to 100 degrees and we'll finally get some noticeably cooler lows.

We’ll be less humid this weekend, but noticeably drier next week. By the end of next week, high pressure starts to rebuild across the Southwest, nudging temperatures back above average again.
