Firefighters were monitoring a debris fire Thursday morning in Thousand Palms.

The fire was first reported at 4:51 a.m. Off Rio Del Sol Road, near Vista Chino.

Riverside County firefighters said the fire was contained to a 200 by 200 foot area.

A bulldozer and 22 firefighters were working on the fire.

The area has seen several green waste fires. A fire February 29th burned a large pile of cut up Tamarisk trees near the same intersection.
