Drivers can expect to see increase in gas prices over the next month
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose 1 cent today to $4.022, the largest daily increase since June 22nd.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 6.3 cents higher than one month ago and 36.7 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The pump price could continue to rise because of an approximately 40-cent per gallon increase in the last two weeks in the wholesale cost of gasoline, stemming from concerns over supplies caused by “exports of refined gasoline to more profitable markets overseas and continued refinery issues,” according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
