Heat and Humidity Finally Ease Across the Coachella Valley

The heat and humidity are finally starting to loosen their grip on the Coachella Valley, but we still have a hot and muggy afternoon and evening.

Highs climb into the lower 110s again this afternoon, with lingering monsoonal moisture bringing along one last chance for isolated thunderstorms over the mountains and adjacent deserts the next few hours.

Our Extreme Heat Warning continues through 8pm Friday.

Changes are on the way as a trough begins to move into the West Coast Friday, weakening our ridge of high pressure which kicks off a noticeable cooling and drying trend beginning this weekend.

Temperatures begin to fall, settling closer to normal by this weekend, and humidity begins to drop with cooler overnight lows giving us a little bit of relief. Even better, our weak troughing sticks around through at least the first half of next week, keeping us dry with highs near to slightly below average.
