Model speaks out about the man who secretly shot video of her privates

A man who secretly filmed under a woman’s skirt at a pet store was sentenced today to 120 days community labor, five years of probation and ordered to undergo a sexual compulsion treatment program. Julio Medal, 38, was also ordered not to own, possess or use any device capable of taking photos or video recording, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. The victim, Brittanie Weaver, said she thinks “that offenders of this nature should be required to register as sex offenders.” “Although I am a model, a complete stranger has no right to film up my dress without my knowledge or consent and doing so is reprehensible,” Weaver said. “I have never worked a modeling job that has left me feeling the violation or humiliation that I felt as a result of what Julio Mario Medal did to me.” Attorney Gloria Allred said her 24-year-old client saw Medal — wearing an identification badge that said “court interpreter” with the name Mario on it — repeatedly kneel down, ostensibly just to pet her dog, at a Puppy and Me store on Ventura Boulevard on March 15. “Brittanie, following her intuition, suddenly looked down and saw the camera on the corner of Mario’s iPad, which was, at that point, between her legs,” Allred said. “She turned white as she reluctantly concluded that he had been filming up her dress.” The young woman went online and found Medal, then gave police a print-out of the information she found, Allred said. The incident was caught on the store’s video surveillance cameras, according to the City Attorney’s Office.
