Colorado man dies in Desert Hot Springs crash

A Colorado man died when his sport utility vehicle veered off the roadway and rolled on a Desert Hot Springs street, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office reported today.

The driver, Dale Olsen, 59, of Durango, Colo., failed to negotiate a curve and drifted off eastbound Worsley Road, about a half mile south of North Indian Canyon Drive.

Olsen’s SUV flipped over, the coroner’s office reported.

Olsen was pronounced dead at the scene of crash that was reported at 6:35 a.m. Saturday. The accident happened south of Interstate 10.

A passenger was cut from the wreckage and taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, Riverside County firefighters reported.

His name was not released.
