More shoppers expected online for Cyber Monday
It’s another big day on the retail calendar, today is Cyber Monday, the biggest day of the year for online shopping. Even with access to the internet in pockets, purses, couches and cafes, retailers say Cyber Monday hasn’t lost its luster.
Industry experts expect 131M Americans will shop online for deals today compared to 129M last year. The National Retail Federation reports that eight out of ten retailers will offer special Cyber Monday deals.
Websites like savings.com and pricegrabber.com pull coupons and deals from multiple retailers. Also, the deep online discounts will go beyond Cyber Monday because businesses are trying to clear their inventory for the holidays.
Hundreds of retailers will participate in Free Shipping Day on December, 18, with delivery guaranteed by Christmas.
But, as you browse websites for holiday shopping deals, be aware of identity theft. Don’t enter your card information on unsecured sites, especially on a public wireless internet connection used at places such as cafes and airports.
