‘Button-Down Bandit’ linked to 4 robberies in less than 3 weeks

A man who robbed a bank in La Quinta last Wednesday has been connected to additional bank robberies in Orange County and Riverside County in the past three weeks. Authorities have dubbed the man, the ‘Button-Down Bandit’.

The FBI and police are seeking your help to identify the serial bank robber. It’s believed the man is responsible for four bank robberies in the cities of Yorba Linda, Seal Beach, La Quinta and Riverside.

During the robberies, the ‘Button-Down Bandit’ enters the bank and hands a note to the teller demanding cash. The suspect has made statements including, “Don’t make me do it” or “You have thirty seconds,” according to police.

The suspect has also passed a note during the robberies demanding denominations of $50s and $100s, suggesting that someone would otherwise get hurt.

Police describe the suspect as a white male with white hair, he has a slender build, and is believed to be between 150-160 lbs and between 45-50 years old.

11/25/13 Bank of America Seal Beach
11/27/13 U.S. Bank La Quinta
12/2/13 U.S. Bank Riverside

The FBI and law enforcement in Orange County and Riverside County are conducting a joint investigation.
