Man, 72, accused of viewing porn at restaurant

Riverside County authorities have arrested a 72-year-old man who allegedly was using free Wi-Fi at a restaurant to view child porn on his laptop.

The Riverside Press Enterprise reports deputies responded to the Countryside Marketplace in Menifee Monday morning after a customer complained that a man was looking at pornography.

The deputies confirmed Charles Turton Cook was viewing child porn over the restaurant’s open wireless network.

Officials say a subsequent search of Cook’s residence and computer turned up numerous photos depicting young male children.

The newspaper says Cook was booked for investigation of possessing pornography.

He was released Tuesday on $5,000 bail.
