Man found dead in Thousand Palms identified

A man’s body was discovered Wednesday around 8 a.m. in the Legacy apartment complex in Thousand Palms. The coroner identified the man as 44 year-old Ruben Cantu Jr.

Police aren’t looking for any suspect and the coroner’s office is working to determine the cause of his death. The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities said Cantu Jr.’s body was found behind the ‘L’ building of the apartment complex which is located in the 72000 block of El Centro Way.
