Bus Crashes on Interstate 15 in Corona, kills 1

A tour bus overturned on Interstate 15 in Corona on Thursday, injuring as many as 20 people.

The accident was reported around 2:30 p.m. on the northbound 15, between Magnolia and Ontario avenues, according to the Corona Fire Department.

Weather may have been a contributing factor in the wreck, which happened as a thunderstorm moved through the area.

According to reports from the scene, the bus was traveling from the Pala Casino Spa & Resort in San Diego County to Westminster in Orange County. It was the second tour bush crash on the 1-15 Thursday afternoon, at roughly the same time about 40 miles away.

One person was killed and about two dozen others were injured when a bus
skidded out of control and overturned on I-15 in northern San Diego County Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The southbound coach crashed near State Route 76 in the Pala Mesa area
about 2:30 p.m., and ambulances were sent in to tend to as many as 30 patients, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
