Man killed in motorcycle crash identified

A man was killed this weekend after crashing his motorcycle in Cathedral City. Authorities identified the man as 24-year-old Randall Wells.

Police responded to the crash near Mission Drive and Santa Barbara Drive on Saturday. They said Wells was driving southbound on Santa Barbara on an off-road motorcycle when he ended up crossing into the opposite lane of traffic. He collided with a vehicle head-on.

Wells was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center but he died from his injuries around 10 p.m., according to police.

He wasn’t wearing a helmet and the crash is still being investigated.

There was no immediate information regarding the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash but police haven’t reported any injuries. We’ll bring you more details when they become available.
