Missing San Jacinto man reportedly found safe near Indio

Authorities were investigating the disappearance of a 35-year-old man in San Jacinto after KABC reported he was later found safe in Indio.

The episode was at first treated as suspicious.

John Ecker had not been seen since leaving for work in Glendora from his home on the 600 block of East Old Second Street early Monday morning, said Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Wallace Clear.

Clear said attempts to contact Ecker had been unsuccessful and that foul play “may be a factor.”

Ecker’s 2013 white GMC utility truck was found near Indio late Monday, along Dillon Road near Indio.

The report said Ecker was scheduled to leave for work in Glendora, Monday morning.

Anyone with information was asked to call the San Jacinto Police Department or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
