Residents evacuated after wildfire in Cabazon

Some residents have been evacuated as Cal Fire and Riverside County firefighters work to contain a wildfire in Cabazon that’s burning on the Reservation.

According to fire officials, the fire is at eight acres. It has destroyed one outbuilding and four vehicles.

Residents from the 12800 block of Malki Road and North Sullivan Road have been issued evacuation orders. The Community Center at 13000 Malki Road has also been evacuated, firefighters report.

There are 80 firefighters on scene with two air tankers and one helicopter to assist.

The blaze was first reported around 9:40 a.m. when it was one to two acres. Wind conditions are at 12 mph. KESQ & CBS Local 2 News have a crew arriving at the scene and we’ll bring you more information as it comes in.
