Murder charge filed against Indio man accused in stabbing

A murder charge has been filed against an Indio man suspected in a deadly stabbing earlier this week.

David Montoya Sanchez, 43, was arraigned Thursday afternoon in connection to the death of 57-year-old Indio resident Arthur Felix Candelaria.

The victim was found Monday night with multiple stab wounds in the driveway of a home in the 84000 block of Lingayan Avenue in an unincorporated area of Indio.

Candelaria was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, officials reported.
