Police to run DUI checkpoint in Palm Springs Friday night

The Palm Springs Police Department will operate a DUI checkpoint Friday night at an undisclosed location.

Beginning at 9 p.m., and continuing until 2:30 a.m. Saturday, officers will look for signs of alcohol or drug impairment and make sure motorists are carrying a valid driver’s license, Sgt. Harvey Reed said.

The checkpoint is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
