Young boy suffers major injuries in crash in Mecca

An adolescent boy suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle collision in the community of Mecca, according to a Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at 5:52 p.m. Sunday on Sea View Way at Club View Drive, said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

The boy was transported by helicopter to a hospital with major injuries, according to Hendrickson.

Mecca is near the Salton Sea in southeast Riverside County.
