Possible payment card breach at Michaels

The arts and crafts retailer, Michaels announced Saturday that it may have been hit by a security breach.

Officials with Michaels said they recently learned of “possible fraudulent activity” on some of its customers’ payment cards.

Michaels CEO Chuck Rubin says the breach has not been confirmed, but they want to alert customers to check their account activity.

Rubin says they don’t know how many customers may be affected, when they shopped at the store, or if the possible breach affected in-store or online shoppers.

The news comes weeks after retailers Target, and Neiman Marcus acknowledged security breaches at their stores.
