Water park to hire hundreds for summer jobs

Wet n’ Wild Palm Springs is looking to heat up the local economy while cooling people down this summer.

Officials said the water park is hiring enthusiastic, friendly and dependable team members looking for employment for the 2014 season. They said there are over 100 jobs available.

The park will be holding a hiring event for high school students on Thursday, January 30, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants with daytime availability should attend the hiring event on Friday, January 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 pm, according to management.

The hiring events will be held in the Guest Services office at the water park, located at 1500 South Gene Autry Trail.

For the majority of jobs, applicants must be at least 16 years old. Certain specialty positions require job applicants to be 18 years old or possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

All applicants must be available to work most spring and/or summer hours of operation (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Lifeguards
Cash Control
Food Service Associates
Cabana Servers
Park Service Attendants
Warehouse
Merchandise Attendants
Security
Guest Service Associates

If you want to apply to be a lifeguard, you must have a valid ILTP Lifeguard Certificate, officials said. Training to obtain your ILTP certificate will be provided at the water park for $50.

Management said the water park offers great seasonal benefits for its staff including flexible schedules and free park admission.

If you’re interested in a summer job or want to know more about possible employment, staff will be available at the hiring events to answer questions and complete interviews.

No appointment is needed; walk-ins are welcomed.
